After falling seriously ill, I lost my ability to work almost overnight. I live in a very isolated area in Asturias with no access to public transport, making any medical or bureaucratic procedures very complicated for me. Taking part in the CONECTAS project was life changing. I got a computer, internet access and a three-month course that enabled me to manage many essential procedures from home. Having all these resources at the click of a button, rather than having to drive, has made managing my condition so much easier and helped preserve my independence. Life can knock us down but there is always a way to improve the situation. Learning never subtracts; it always adds.
