After years of not being entirely fulfilled by corporate jobs, I took a sabbatical year to recharge and decide on my next steps. I wanted to go back to a job in the environmental/energy sectors, but I was missing language skills and some other requirements. So, I attended the programme ‘Energy is the Future’, organised by the Berlin-based non-profit LIFE eV. The programme focused on relevant and up-to-date content and coached us to get a job. It provided me with the means to apply for non-profit organisations and governmental roles, which are more aligned with my interests. Go ahead and throw yourself into it! Learning and reflecting are useful at any point in your career.
