I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I graduated high school, so I joined the Lithuanian Armed Forces. There, I met a sergeant who quickly became a mentor to me. I was inspired by his stories about being a paramedic and so, when I left the army, I enrolled in the paramedic specialty programme at the Karalius Mindaugas Vocational Training Centre. After graduation, I became a paramedic and later started training future paramedics. Combining the work of teacher and paramedic – two jobs I really enjoy – guarantees a new challenge every day!
