Description
Launching the European Year of Skills in Ireland was Minister Simon Harris from the Department of Further and Higher Education.
The event also launched a new network called "Cultural and Creative Industries Skillnet", with Network Manager Gareth Lee addressing how "the cultural and creative sector faces challenges and opportunities related to skills and talent development, especially in areas like digital transformation, sustainability, and leadership. The new Skillnet network will help the sector to address these challenges and capitalise on future opportunities".
The event was in person with live video conferencing from MEP Maria Walsh and Chief Executive Paul Healy (Skillnet Ireland). The event concluded with a panel discussion with composer Eimear Noone and key stakeholders of the cultural and creative industries discussing the value of skills development and lifelong learning.
