I have always wanted to do meaningful research that helps to find solutions to what I perceive as the world's biggest challenges, such as pandemics, climate change, and migration. I know that my work can effect societal change and I am passionate to create an impact. The PhD programme at LUT University Business School in Finland has provided me with the necessary tools, research and innovation skills and a global research and academic network to help drive change. Since participating in EU Horizon 2020 OpenInnoTrain Research Project's summer schools I have put my focus on impact and network intelligence. After joining as a participant, I quickly realised I wanted to be more involved and so became part of the organising team where I learned how to design, engage and communicate the impact of research, as well as strengthening my leadership and teaching skills. Another project called Network IQ Alliance helped me build a global professional network and learn about different strategies of leveraging networks for collaboration, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
