I was working part time as a waitress and looking after my kids when I took tutoring and up-cycling courses. I learnt how to use a sewing machine, how to design and how to teach others those same skills. I’m now working part-time teaching sewing and up-cycling classes and making products for sale. Learning new skills has given me confidence and I like being able to pass what I’ve learnt onto others. I would tell anyone to find something that you love and just enjoy the experience and persevere, even when it’s hard.
