Flemish Lifelong Learning Conference 2023: Ready for the twin-transition?

On Tuesday 12 December 2023, the 2nd Flemish Lifelong Learning Conference took place in Antwerp. Over 300 participants attended the event, organised by the Centre of Expertise for Innovative Learning Paths (Department of Work and Social Economy of the Flemish government) and the Lifelong Learning Partnership.

This year’s edition was dedicated to the twin transition, skills for the future and the importance of lifelong learning. The programme featured keynote presentations, a panel discussion, breakout sessions and network possibilities. Over 30 speakers shared their insights, presented inspirational practices and gave useful tips to the audience. 

One session was dedicated to the European Year of Skills, aiming to inspire the audience with practices from outside of Flanders. Kristine Krivmane and Olivia van Havre from the European Commission presented an overview of the European Year of Skills. Annemiek Wortman (EYS National Coordinator for the Netherlands) and Guibert Debroux (EYS NationalCoordinator for Wallonia and the French-speaking community) gave insights in the challenges and skills policies in the Netherlands and Wallonia.
