Massimo Sabatini, the General Director of Fondirigenti, emphasises the programme’s role in nurturing the future generation of managers. "With D20 Leader, we intend to support the education of young aspiring managers," he explains. "It is a unique project designed to highlight the great potential of our young graduates through testimonials of excellence, national and European study tours, and experience in the corporate sector, all aimed at providing participants with high-level skills and a deep understanding of the major trends shaping our world."

D20 Leader is not just a conventional training programme. It is a comprehensive journey that covers a spectrum of essential topics: from sustainability, innovation, and digitalisation to public speaking and people management. The programme took place between September and November 2023. The highlight, however, is an immersive corporate experience, which, for this edition, will start in January 2024. This component allows the twenty young participants to apply their newfound knowledge and actively engage in innovation projects within a real work context.

Jessica's Journey: A D20 Leader Success Story

Jessica Scodro, a participant in the inaugural edition of D20 Leader in 2019, exemplifies the programme's transformative potential. Jessica, who holds a Master's Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Trieste, had already  completed internships at prestigious institutions like the United Nations and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, her journey was about to take a significant turn.

Thanks to D20 Leader, Jessica had the opportunity to put her acquired skills into practice at the Digital Innovation Hub Lombardy, where she undertook a project tailored to her professional growth. Recently, she met the new participants of the current D20 Leader edition during their visit to MADE Competence Center, with whom Jessica now collaborates through the Digital Innovation Hub. During this event, she shared her experience and reflected on her transformation since participating in D20 Leader..

Jessica highlighted : "During the course, I acquired skills in different areas from my academic background. The 2-month training course was structured into 4 thematic areas: Megatrends, Industry 4.0, Sustainability, and Governance. In addition, the course included cross-curricular insights into soft skills, study tours to Israel, Brussels, and Luxembourg, company visits, and meetings with entrepreneurs and institutions. This course allowed me to gain new skills and expand my network."

In particular, she highlighted the importance of the knowledge she gained about digitalisation , which she hadn't considered previously. Today, Jessica works as an intermediary in Business and Institutional Relationships for Confindustria's Digital Innovation Hub Lombardy, with a mission to bridge the gap between companies' needs and the digital innovation ecosystem's offerings. She firmly believes that her journey with D20 Leader was instrumental in achieving her current success.
