Not knowing what to do with my future, I joined the ‘ELA: Empowerment through learning and working abroad’ programme. I had weekly language classes and received help with job applications, including CV writing and interview training. At my job abroad in a decoration shop, I learnt lots of new skills, which really changed my life for the better. I learned step by step where I belong in this world, what I’m capable of, and what my strengths are. I’d advise people in the same situation to try new things and give them a chance before saying they’re not for you. Find your own speed of learning and stay consistent. |
