Let’s start the Skills Revolution – Making Skills Count conference promotes the value of investing in skills

The Making Skills Count Conference took place on 8 and 9 June in Brussels and online.

The conference brought together companies, social partners, public authorities, education and training providers, guidance and validation practitioners, civil society organisations, chambers of commerce, and other relevant stakeholders. With over 280 participants in presence and more than a thousand online, the event provided a fascinating Europe-wide discussion on how to “make skills count”.

The event confirmed the relevance of a European Year on Skills, the importance of skills to all economic sectors and society as a whole, as well as the importance of commitment from all actors in achieving the skills revolution.

“The Skills Revolution needs to happen close to where people live”, EU Commission Vice President for Promoting our European Way of Life, Margaritis Schinas affirmed.

"Skills are central, […] it is a continuous process, we have to invest in people”, Commissioner Schmit stressed.
