Christie Morreale

Christie Morreale

Christie Morreale was born in Ougrée in 1977. She is passionate about the environment and the economy, and the fight for women's rights is at the root of her commitment.

The passion she puts into everything she does earned her the opportunity to take up a post in a minister's office shortly before completing her studies in criminology. She went on to accumulate 10 years' experience in cabinets (Deputy Prime Minister and Gender Equality, Minister of Justice, Walloon Minister of the Interior, etc.).

In 2003, Christie Morreale was appointed vice-president of the Socialist Party before being elected for the first time in 2006 as 'échevine’ for Esneux, a position she held until 2014. A senator since 2011, she was elected at the Walloon Regional Parliament in May 2014 and re-elected in May 2019. On 13 September 2019, she was sworn in as Minister for Employment, Training, Health, Social Action, Equal Opportunities and Women's Rights.
